The Gitans – Traditional Gypsy Music for a Modern Audience
If you find yourself in Prague on a Sunday night you should go down to the bar PopoCaféPetl. This is because every Sunday night the Gitans, Prague's latest musical hit, take center stage to delight with their own brand of tradional gypsy music.
The group which was founded by Milan Bingác Demeter in 2005, plays traditional gypsy music with a twist and they are gaining steam with a cult following.
These guys were so determined that they released their first CD only two months after getting together. The results were pretty fantastic and the group is getting better with each passing day.
Gitans is already a huge hit at local festivals and they are hoping to tour internationally soon. Looks like Gogol Bordello will soon have some competion as America's gypsy band.
